Every Donation Counts

At Mountain Home Montana, young women and children facing extraordinary challenges find a safe haven and the support they need to build brighter futures. Many arrive with little more than hope, and your kindness can make a world of difference. By donating essential items, you can help provide warmth, comfort, and a sense of stability to these resilient individuals as they navigate life’s difficulties. Every contribution, no matter how small, holds the power to uplift a family in need and remind them that they are not alone.

Clothes and Household Goods

Mountain Home Montana gratefully accepts gently used donations that can be given to residents and their children or that can be sold through our Rattle n' Roll Traveling Store to support programs. It is hard to say no to donations when many young mothers and their children are in need, but certain items cannot be accepted due to health hazards, safety regulations, or high disposal costs.

We typically accept the following clothes and household goods:

  • Unused and unopened potty-training chairs
  • Gently used clothing and accessories for young women
  • Fashion maternity clothes for young women
  • Children’s books and learning activities
  • Plates, bowls, glasses, silverware, utensils
  • Small appliances (toasters, blenders, coffee pots)
  • Gently used baby clothes and items including bathtubs, strollers, and bassinets
  • Breastfeeding supplies (pads, bras, bags) - unused and unopened breast pumps can be accepted at this time
  • Unused and unopened car seats and booster seats

We CANNOT accept the following items unless we are actively seeking them for a family or unit:

  • Men’s clothing
  • Large appliances (refrigerators, ovens, stoves, etc.)
  • Large furniture (bed frames, couches, tables, etc.)
  • Televisions and computer monitors

WE DO NOT ACCEPT FURNITURE OR LARGE APPLIANCES.

While Mountain Home cannot accept these items, please consider calling to see if the YWCA Secret Seconds could use them (excluding used car seats and outdated cribs which cannot be donated).

Thank you so much for your support!

It certainly takes a village and we appreciate you being part of ours!
All donations to Mountain Home Montana are tax-deductible and we will provide a donation receipt if requested.
